We actually get a lot of questions about my teeth. Everyone knows about teeth. But at the same time, no one really talks about teeth and there are some people that need to see this post. There are people that don’t know this information and maybe it’ll help you.
- Replace toothbrush regularly
Apparently, you should throw away your toothbrush or replace your brush heads every three months. I actually didn’t really know when I was supposed to replace a toothbrush. It’s something that never really crossed my mind. It’s not like that I would keep the same toothbrush for years but I’d probably only replace my toothbrush twice a year and I never knew that it’s something that you should be doing more frequently. When you’re sick, don’t keep using that same toothbrush. You should throw your toothbrush away and get a new one.
- Smell your breath
Have you ever wanted to know what your breath smells? But you’re too scared or embarrassed to ask someone. You can take a spoon or a q-tip and start from the back of your tongue, drag it all the way down. Let it dry. Once it’s dry, you can smell what your breath smells.
- Use a straw when drinking
When you drink soda, coffee and tea, use a straw. When you use a straw, you are passing your teeth and the soda is going down and not swishing around your teeth. It helps to avoid staining your teeth because it’s surpassing the teeth.
- Use an electric toothbrush
This is the toothbrush I use, which is a vibrating toothbrush. It has different pressures: clean, white, polish, soft and sensitive. What I love about vibrating toothbrushes is that they clean your mouth so much easier. Just gently go in circular motions and since itโs vibrating, it’s doing the extra work for you already. The first time that I use this toothbrush I could see the difference in my teeth. They looked brighter, wider and much cleaner. Ever since I’ve used this, I don’t want to use a regular toothbrush because this works really well.
- Brush your entire mouth
I used to only think that brushing my teeth meant brushing my teeth. But the issue with that is that with bad breath it doesn’t necessarily come from just your teeth. It comes from your whole mouths such as your tongue, the inside of your cheeks and the roof of your mouth. You need to literally brush all of it with toothpaste. When you brush your tongue, you need to brush it down so that you’re able to bring everything forward.
- You must floss!
A lot of people don’t make flossing a priority. Maybe because it’s like an extra step that no one wants to do. When you eat and brush your teeth, you can push bacteria and food in between your tooth.
I use a water flosser to floss. It is so cool to me. It shoots out water and makes flossing super quick and easy. You don’t have to get any strain.
- Donโt brush your teeth right after eating!
Whenever you eat acidic foods, don’t brush your teeth right after drinking. I used to think that if I eat something like that, I should brush my teeth immediately. But this food makes your teeth weaker. Whenever you brush your teeth, your enamel gets weaker and you actually destroy your enamel. Wait at least thirty minutes to an hour in order to brush your teeth.
